Hello. My name is Alex Oleynikov, I am write books for children, I also work as a journalist and teach literature to little children. Sorry, I can’t make a video — my english is poor. So what I am doing as a writer — I write to you.

A human needs to eat, drink, breathe and love. And he wants to listen to good stories. He wants to live in them. Sometimes he needs just a good story to stay afloat. And he needs to find a human who can tell stories and knows how to do it.

So it happened that I can tell stories. And I write a lot. Fairytales, stories and fantasy novels.

One day I came up with the story of a circus which is a birthpalce of magic. In fact, magic lives in any circus or theater and magic is coming into being every day. People come to the circus for a few hours and forget about everything. They laugh, cry, rejoice and grieve with the characters. And there is nothing more real for them then the story being told on the stage at the moment.

So I thought, what if the circus is full of real wizards? What if a juggler is a real magician? What if a tamer is able to tame the monster? What if a strong man is able to lift an elephant? And where are these people from? Why are they together? What do they dream of and what are they afraid of?

So the idea of Magus came to my mind. Magus is an ancient community of people who protect the world from the invasion of fairies. A girl named Jenny Dahlfin – an acrobat and a juggler’s assistant lives there, but she has no idea of Magus and its power until one day she released a creature – an ice chimera. That incident touched a little stone and an avalanche came down full of exiled gods, spirits, people of Magus, dark wizards, fairies, defeated Titans, kitsune, trolls, and even King Arthur. The story begins in England and finishes on an island of Avalon, where Jenny Dahlfin has to decide the fate of the world.

This year the last -7th and 8th — books are going to be published in Russia. This series is a successful one and has a lot of fans. And I would love the readers who do not know Russian to find out about Jenny’s adventures.

Unfortunately I can not pay for the translation. The fact that the fees of writers in Russia is several times less than the fees of their counterparts in Europe or America. In Russia a writer receives book writer receives at the average rate of 30-40 thousand rubles. If converted into dollars It would be only 500 dollars – it will be even less in the upcoming crises. A translation into English would cost me 4,000 dollars approximately. That is a sum that is difficult for me to raise.

I ask to give me five thousand dollars, because I need to pay not only to a translator, but to a professional editor, a proof-reader and to those who will prepare the manuscript for online publication.

Even if I fail to get the sum, I’ll nevertheless be able to pay for at least partially to the translator, and it will also really help. If you read the story in your native language you will never be disappointed, I promise!

Brief: Jenny Dahlfin and The hidden land

Seven books of the series tell about the incredible adventures of a girl named Jenny Dahlfin, a young girl from an English travelling circus. She grew up in this circus, and her grandfather — a juggler — was the one who raised her. Jenny grew up to be an acrobat and a juggler. Due to her restless nature and a keen sense of justice she always gets into lots of troubles. It all started when she overheard a talk between two people and found out that one of the animal tamers was engaged in animal smuggling. Jenny immediately decided to release animals.

Who knew that one of the creatures was a powerful ice chimera. It froze the whole circus in the middle of summer. No human can master such a beast, but as it turns out no one in this circus is an ordinary human, including Jenny. When everyone is threatened, Jenny finds out that her alma mater is actually a haven for members of an ancient brotherhood Magus. From the ancient times they protected people of the Earth from the Primes — elves, Tuatha, spirits, fairies and other creatures that appeared on earth long before the mankind. That was an era when people of Magus were so strong that they were able to overcome the Primes in an open battle. They drove the Primes into a hidden land, a space beyond our reality. The place which we know as our reality is called the Outland. A few times a year, during the ancient solstice celebrations, the Primes can break free and get into the world of men. But then Magus is on their way and save the world.

There are four classes in Magus — the Guardians, the Hunters, the Barda and the Empowered. Everyone has their own skills and abilities, they are united as one — they are able to ask the Universum for anything and it can answer their requests. However, each request have to be payed for.

There is also one terrible force that have been haunting Magus for all that time. The Wizards. They dream to regain their power over the world which they have lost after the battle with the Primes. When elves have gone, they took most of magic powers with them and the wizards lost their ability to make magic. Instead of making magic they started to develop science. The first alchemists were the ex-wizards. And Freymus has already mastered all the modern techniques and devices. Throughout the centuries the wizard have become more powerful than any class and now they actually run the world. And they still do not like the Magus. Because of their continuing persecution the members of Magus transformed into circus amuzers and dissolved in a motley crew of jesters, minstrels, clowns, actors, that are on the wheels on the roads around the world.

The great confrontation between Magus and Wizards started, when the wizard Albert Freymus forced the circus tamer bring the ice chimera to the circus. If a cunning plan is a success, all Magus of England will be in his hands. However, Jenny Dahlfin mixed all his cards, and the sorcerer, of course, couldn’t forgive her for that.

It is really hard to describe the events that followed. Jenny managed to rescue the circus but she became then a prisoner of the magician and could escape from his impregnable island in the most amazing of the ways — she turned into a dolphin and found an asylum in Norway. She met the spirit of the glacier and escaped the persecution of the Wild Hunt. She crossed the Ocean of Probabilities and arrived to Avalon — the island which is everywhere and nowhere at the same time. But the sorcerer’s plans are much bigger than anyone could suppose, even his colleagues. He has homunculi and werewolves — the holders of the spirit of the dead — on his side and even the Wild Hunt. The Wild Hunt’s Leader, the ancient god Gwyn ap Nudd, longs to escape from the everlasting imprisonment in the Hidden Lands. The Wizard has counted everything and has only a handful of circus people on his way. He can wipe them off with one blow … But why can’t he do that? As it turns out Jenny is the representative of the fifth class of mysterious Magus. She is the Seer and even the Magus have forgotten what a Seer is and the features she possesses.

Now, perhaps it is a young circus girl who has to decide the fate of the world, when magic and science, people of Magus and wizards, past, present and future meet on one battlefield. Whose side will Jenny Dahlfin choose?

There will be 8 books in the series and now the 7th is already on the way to be published and the 8th is in the process of been written.
